Yesterday was a beach day with the Etheringtons and Harrison's Grandma turned an undisclosed age ;) on Thursday. Lovely sunshine and a sleepy trip to the beach for the boy. Yummy lunch and a play in the grass woke him up again. He even had a sneaky chew on some cucumber in preparation for WEANING DAY TOMORROW (boohoo, my baby is growing up too fast)
Today we indulged in our Durham heritage by going to the Miner's Gala (aka Durham Big Meet) where reps from the old mines march, with brass bands booming, through the city of Durham. The march ends with a big fair full of overpriced rides and air that is roughly 70% sugar.
We took my niece, Harrison's cousin, Molly, who turned 8 whole years old yesterday. She gave the day a big thumbs up so I think we might have nabbed the 'Best Auntie and Uncle' awards (sorry, siblings, victory is OURS!!!)
It's lovely watching Molly play with Harrison. She's so gentle with him and so caring. It's crazy to think that it's 8 years since she was a baby and scares me significantly how quickly those 8 years have gone and how Harrison is likely to repeat this race to grow up (NOOOOOOOOO!!!!)
As I mentioned, tomorrow is the start of BABY LED WEANING in this house. I've been fighting it (I'm not ready for my baby to grow up), but I've had to concede and allow the day to come. We'll be taking LOTS of photos and videos for you to see the mess and madness (oh boy), so brace yourselves, folks.
Right, that's enough from me. It's dinner time so I'm off for now.
Tally ho, lovelies. X
